Hong Kong invests in piped gas market

Hong Kong-listed companies are driving the development of piped natural gas distribution systems in many parts of China following Beijing's decision in 2002 to open the piped city gas industry to foreign investment,writes David Hayes.According to industry figures,four Hong Kong-based companies have each signed contracts to set up piped gas distribution systems in more than 150 cities throughout China,in some cases supplying piped LPG until natural gas supplies become available.
