CPC pipeline needs to increase capacity

CPC General Director Ken MacDonald is reported to have stated that oil companies have applied to transport 26mn tonnesof oil through the Caspian Pipeline Consortium pipeline in 2004.The pipeline currently transports about 1.4mn tonnes of oil per month and the inclusion of output from the Karachaganak field will boost volumes to about 20mn tonnes of oil by the end of this year.
