Trinidad and Tobago is also on course to capture the market for gas-fired electricity emerging in the Caribbean now that Caribbean LNG, the 500,000 t/y LNG plant to be sited at La Brea in the south-west, is under development. The train, which will be owned jointly by Gasfin Development and Parallax Energy, with a possible share going to one of the two state-owned gas entities National Gas Company (NGC) or the National Energy Corporation (NEC), is now at the project development agreement (PDA) stage, with the project agreement (PA) expected to be initialled by year's end.
