The age-old principle of waste water collection by using gravity has many problems, chief of which is the need to excavate if thee is no natural slope. A new system, based on a vacuum pumping principle, is set to eliminate this problem. "SA Mechanical Engineer" went along to the recent launch of this pumping system to see what it was all about.
