Two recent publications, both purporting to be written by environmentalists, come to very different conclusions concerning nuclear generation. The respectable one, 'The God species - how the planet can survive the age of humans' is by Mark Lynas, a British environmentalist with impeccable former anti-nuclear activist credentials. This is an excellent book. In other words, it's one with which I whole-heartedly agree. Lynas is associated with a body he refers to as the 'planetary boundaries expert group'. The group has defined nine interrelated 'planetary boundaries' that we transgress at our global peril. Some are obvious, others less so.
