Expanding capacity

State-owned Petroleum Oil and Gas Corporation of South Africa(PetroSA)is planning what is claimed will be Africa's biggest refinery outside Port Elizabeth.This 11 bn project will see the construction of a 400,000 b/d capacity facility in the new state-led Coega industrial development zone in Eastern Cape province.First production from the grassroots refinery is scheduled for 2014 if final board approval is given to the scheme in late 2010.
