The digital oilfield (DOF) has no clear definition of success. There is no agreement on what important components of the solution should be or a shared understanding of how implementation will occur. Despite giving the impression of a single, consistent model for a digital future, it is evident that different companies have different visions, and some see it as a source of competitive advantage.
