The New Industrial Revolution

Two hundred years ago technology pioneers combined iron, coal, steam and ingenuity to radically transform the manufacturing process. The Industrial Revolution which those early innovators set in motion gave rise to the greatest disruption the world economy had ever witnessed. Its innovations of mechanisation, precision engineering, material science, industrial chemistry and mass production laid the foundation for today's globalised economy; and in so doing, established the rules of the modern supply chain.
