摘要

A report released by the European Union's (EU) umbrella groups for gas and electricity regulators has claimed wholesale energy prices within the EU are beginning to converge, as cross-border sales develop, writes Keith Nuthall. Consumer prices still varied significantly between the EU's 27 member states, however. The Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER) and the Council of European Energy Regulators (CEER) said gas wholesale price convergence improved in 2011 in northwest Europe (UK, Belgium, France, Germany and the Netherlands), although it was more limited elsewhere. But household gas prices vary even here - in 2011, UK average prices post-tax were 4.74 euro cents/kWh; in France 6.13 cents; and in the Netherlands 7.29 cents.
