The last decade has seen US shale oil production increase remarkably, changing the face of the global oil market. However, those seeking to exploit the highly productive oil fields, in North Dakota for example, face challenges in bringing the crude oil extracted from these shale reserves to market. Doing so efficiently will require new infrastructure and potentially a legislative response.
