UKCS drilling activity remained high in 2008

Offshore exploration activity within the UK Continental Shelf (UKCS) remained high in 2008, according to the latest industry figures released by Deloitte. Deloitte's North West Europe Review, which summarises drilling and licensing in the region and is produced by its Petroleum Services Group (PSG), reports that 121 exploration and appraisal wells were spudded in the UK throughout 2008 -just two fewer than in 2007.
