Applus RTD first to apply augmented reality NDT

Applus RTD is driving forward an innovative research and development programme to incorporate augmented reality systems into its NDT (non-destructive testing) technology range. To demonstrate the value and capabilities of the programme the company has integrated the augmented reality technology into its RTD IWEX system, which provides users with a 3D image of the inspected object. The augmented reality application projects this image around the weld, indicating any defects on the pipe through the use of a tablet device.
