Higher US oil and gas reserve estimates

The US Energy Information Administration (EIA) recently reported an increase during 2010 of both oil and natural gas proved reserves following an assessment of information provided by energy companies, writes Judith Gurney. High prices for crude oil and natural gas tend to increase reserve estimates as companies consider more of their resource base economically producible.
