A European Commission (EC)-ordered report has highlighted significant shortcomings in gas interconnectors crossing national European Union (EU) borders that are restricting the development of an EU gas market, writes Keith Nuthall. This entry-exit regime in a gas study by the Netherlands' DNV KEMA and COVVI Belgium has said the absence of virtual trading points or short-term capacity products are 'highly critical barriers for the development of a well-functioning entry-exit system'.
