An ambitious ?3.9mn (￡3.2mn) programme called OPTION - Optimising Oil Production by Novel Technology-Integration - is being funded by Innovation Fund Denmark, with pioneering collaboration between Lloyd's Register (LR) Energy, LR-Senergy, Technical University of Denmark (DTU), University of Copenhagen and Welltec. Together they are tackling complex challenges in terms of integration and optimisation of reservoir and well simulation models to enhance oil production and recovery. 'The OPTION programme began in April 2014, developing new technologies for predicting and performing optimal control of the flow between wells and the reservoir-during EOR operations,' explains Stefan Glimberg, OPTION Project Manager and Consultant in Energy, Fluid Dynamics at Lloyd's Register Consulting in Denmark.
