In a survey of innovation in the oil and gas industry by Lloyd's Register Energy and its independent Technology Radar research, additive manufacturing was rated as one of the most significant emerging technologies in the medium-term. Oonagh Werngren, Operations Director for Oil & Gas UK, says this reflects the evolution of the sector. 'The UK oil and gas industry has achieved significant progress over the past 50 years due to advances in technology and as the industry evolves, technological innovation will become increasingly important to address the challenge of sustaining production over coming decades, maximising economic recovery of oil and gas resources from the UK Continental Shelf.'
