World first for Cansolv technology

Cansolv and RWE npower report that they have successfully commenced operations at what is claimed to be the world's first integrated sulphur dioxide (SO2)/carbon dioxide (CO2) capture plant. The post-combustion plant at Aberthaw power station in the UK will capture 50 t/d of CO2 from the power station's flue gases - the amount produced by 3 MW of electricity generation - using Cansolv's SO2 and CO2 scrubbing technologies.
