摘要

In many cases, velocity information is unavailable while it is essential for some processes such as making synthetic seismogram. Gardner et al.'s (1974) relationship is such a good approximation of velocity by using density information, but it is a general relationship and in this case for a fractured dolomitic limestone gas reservoir it was less effective. Cross plot analysis and cross validation error were performed and bulk density and neutron porosity logs were selected as the most related to sonic velocity log. So, by using regression analysis, Gardner et al.'s relationship coefficients modified and three new formulas obtained and error and uncertainty reduced significantly.
