The energy landscape certainly has been interesting over the last twelve months, in the UK and further afield. But what do Energy Institute (EI) members make of it all? The second EI Energy Barometer once again surveyed energy professionals to get their take on the big issues. The UK is part of a global energy system subject to geopolitical forces. EI members recognise that there are both short-term drivers for this system to change, currently reflected by the low price of crude oil, and longer-term drivers such as the climate change goals set under the COP21 climate change agreement. The energy professionals the EI surveyed seek stable energy policy to underpin investment for the long term.
