FID reached for Johan Sverdrup

Statoil and its field partners have reached a final investment decision (FID)for the 2.35bn barrel Johan Sverdrup oil field in the Norwegian North Sea. The field, discovered in 2010, is a major success story for Norway, and is the crowning achievement of its successful rejuvenation of exploration in more mature areas.
