We are beginning to see less and less service stations with just eight nozzles offering just two choices of fuel on the fore-court. Indeed, the modern forecourt can often have in excess of 36 nozzles with a 24-hour constant flow of traffic, making fuel dispenser testing a difficult task for both the legal metrology official or the maintenance technician. In response to this situation, Pumpwatch developed what is claimed to be the world's first and only approved carbon fibre composite volumetric test measure (with a zero coefficient of expansion compared to traditional metal test measures) to address the ergonomic and other systematic error issues related to fuel dispenser testing. The high resolution measurement tube is designed to facilitate easy reading of results in ml and % nominal volume, but also to ensure that calculations can be easily carried out when testing fuel dispensers fitted with temperature compensation.
