A Clinico-Pathological Case Suggestive of Classical Marek's Disease in a Mature Gamefowl (Gallus gallus domesticus)

A fourteen-month old locally grown gamefowl with imported bloodline was presented at ADDL, UPCVM with signs of depression, emaciation, and unilateral leg and wing paralysis. Necropsy and histopathology of various organs were performed and revealed thecharacteristic nerve involvement and pleomorphic lymphoid cell infiltration appropriately described as immunoproliferative non-neoplastic disease. The clinical history, epidemiology, physical examinations (antemortem and post-mortem) are highly suggestive of the classical form of Marek's disease.
