Monitoring matrix metalloproteinases activity using FRET peptide substrates and assay kits

摘要

The study of the many types of matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs), their activity, function, expression, and their role in physiology and pathology, has been accelerated using synthetic peptides. A variety of peptide substrates containing specific MMPs cleavage sites have been designed and seen use in assays. Refinement of the specificity and sensitivity of these products is a continuous process.
