摘要

The term vitamin D (calciferols) comprises a group of related compounds that possess antirickets activity [1]. The most important of them are cholecalciferol (vitamin D_3), ergocalciferol (vitamin D_2), and dihydroergocalciferol (vitamin D_4) [2]. Herein we review and analyze the methods for determining group D vitamins that have been most widely used in the literature.Biological analytical methods. The use of biological methods for determining vitamin D involves comparison of the sample to an international standard. The international standard for vitamin D is distributed by the WHO and is a solution of cholecalciferol (vitamin D_3) in vegetable oil that contains 0.025 ug/mL, 1 International Unit (1 IU). Biological methods for determining vitamin D are signficant for estimating therapeutic and prophylactic [3] doses of the vitamin.
