Another seven lawsuits alleging injuries from exposure to the nematicide l,2-dibromo-3-chloropropane (DBCP) on banana plantations in Latin America have been filed in federal court, bringing the total number of DBCP-related actions in the U.S. (at the state and federal level) to at least 28. The seven new cases involve a total of 259 plaintiffs and were filed between May 31 and June 2 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana.
