Biotech opponents file another suit to halt GE crops in wildlife refuges

Biotech opponents on Nov. 2 filed a lawsuit to ban cultivation of biotech crops in all wildlife refuges in eight Midwestern states.Filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia by the Center for Food Safety (CFS), Public Employees for Environmental Responsibility (PEER) and Beyond Pesticides, the suit (Center for Food Safety et al. v. Ken Salazar) charges that the Interior Department's Fish & Wildlife Service (FWS) unlawfully entered into cooperative farming agreements and approved the planting of biotech crops in Illinois, Iowa, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Ohio and Wisconsin.
