In order to ensure high-quality image rendering and image processing by a computer, all calcula-tions of colors must be performed with the account of eye perception. Therefore, all the calculations must be performed in a uniform color system (UCS). There is no UCS that is perfect for the color representation on com-puter displays. The problem of developing a methodology for determining a UCS, which would be adequate for arbitrary devices used to acquire and display images, is formulated. The initial data for the construction of UCSs are obtained by experimental measuring of color discrimination thresholds. To determine color discrimination thresholds for computer monitors, a special procedure that takes into account the specific features of displaying colors and a computer program were developed.
