CWA pesticide permitting fix among industry's legislative priorities

Congress is back from summer recess, and it's make or break time for legislation to exempt FIFRA-compliant pesticide applications from Clean Water Act (CWA) permitting requirements as a court-ordered deadline draws closer. Congress is expected to recess again from Sept. 26-30, and upon its return, campaigning for next year's election is expected to ramp up. Combine that with the jobs package President Obama has sent over, plus the deliberations of the bipartisan, bicameral Super Committee looking for massive deficit reduction measures, and Congress's dance card is full.
