Syngenta sees neonicotinoid report as 'unworthy of EFSA/ while Bayer 'open to constructive dialog'

Syngenta and Bayer CropScience displayed starkly different reactions to the European Food Safety Authority's (EFSA) finding that the three main neonicotinoid insecticides pose a number of risks to honey bees. EFSA released Wednesday three long-anticipated risk assessments, conducted at the request of the European Commission, looking at the pesticides thiamethoxam, manufactured by Syngenta, and clothianidin and imidacloprid, both manufactured primarily by Bayer CropScience.
