The fumigant dazomet was cleared for re-registration by the EU Standing Committee on the Food Chain and Animal Health at its March meeting. The decision to list the active ingredient in Annex I of the EU agrochemical registration directive (91/414) requires formal adoption by the European Commission and will come into force on June 1. Kanesho Soil Treatment (Brussels, Belgium) hails the decision, pointing out that dazomet is the first soil fumigant to be listed in the annex.
