摘要

Negotiators from more than 120 countries approved several actions last week intended to accelerate and expand a global effort to foster sound chemicals management by 2020, forging an agreement on short-term funding and pledging support for actions to address the risks of endocrine-disrupting chemicals and nanotechnology. Delegates left the third meeting of the International Conference on Chemicals Management (ICCM3), held Sept. 17-21, in Nairobi, Kenya, feeling lifted by progress on key issues but grounded in the recognition that the world is still a long way from realizing the ambitious goal of the Strategic Approach to International Chemicals Management (SAICM).
