EU to phase out flufenoxuron, propargite and asulam

The European Commission has decided not to reregister the insecticide/acaricide flufenoxuron and the acaricide propargite over various concerns, including flufenoxuron's high risk to aquatic organisms and propargite's high long-term risk to mammals. The commission has instructed EU member states to withdraw approvals by the end of 2011. They may allow existing stocks to be sold and used until Dec. 31,2012.
