First group of active ingredient renewals completed under new EU agrochemical regulation

Formal decisions on renewing the EU approvals of the fungicides kresoxim-methyl and spiroxamine, and the herbicide fluroxypyr have been issued by the European Commission. This finally completes the first renewal program, named AIR-1, for the group of seven active ingredients that were the first additions to Annex I of the EU agrochemical registration directive (91/414) in 1999-2000. The program started in 2007 but was affected by delays in establishing and implementing procedures.
