Chemical security, endangered species among other regulatory review items relevant to pesticide and chemical stakeholders

In addition to EPA, some 29 other federal entities released their final regulatory review plans this week, with several including items relevant to pesticide and chemical stakeholders. The Department of Homeland Security notes in its final plan that it received a number of comments related to the Chemical Facility Anti-Terrorism Standards when it released its preliminary plan for public comment. One commenter asked DHS to reconsider the application of CFATS to research laboratories, asserting they do not store concentrated volumes of chemicals of interest. The commenter suggested DHS apply a different set of standards and protocols for evaluating and ensuring security at such facilities.
