Both China and India are on the hunt for upstream assets and they aren't too fussy about the location.But with the exception of Sudan,where they are partners,China has repeatedly outbid the Indians for assets,driving up prices and drawing attention to India's lackluster progress.India has come late to the game and cannot seem to match the Chinese when it comes to cash and diplomatic clout to close deals.
