Chevron Gets Warm Welcome In Turkmenistan

Chevron got a warm welcome in Ashkhabad earlier this month when top executives met the new president of Turkmenistan,Gurbanguly Berdimuhammedov.While the visit represents the first high-level overture from a Western major since Berdimuhammedov was elected in February,the US major made clear that its main interest was in the republic's oil reserves,especially offshore (PIW Jan.15,p7).
