Oklahoma reaches for the Scoop

Shaun Polczer, CALGARY: It's called the Scoop - the South Central Oklahoma Oil Province — and it could be North America's biggest and most productive unconventional shale play yet. According to Oklahoma City-based Continental Resources, the Scoop could hold 1.8 billion barrels of oil equivalent (boe) in Oklahoma's Woodford shales, the source rocks for some of the state's biggest oilfields discovered more than 100 years ago.
