Shaun Polczer, CALGARY: Apache is moving to increase drilling and production in the Permian and Anadarko basins after posting record third-quarter operating results. The firm's third-quarter production from the two basins increased 30%, to 183,961 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boe/d) from 141,020 boe/d in the same quarter last year. The mid-continent now accounts for nearly a quarter of Apache's global volumes, compared with less than a fifth at this time last year. "We expect this growth trajectory to continue well into the future," Steven Farris, Apache's chief executive, said in a conference call after the results were released.
