StatoilHydro to spend 2bn to keep Troll alive

NORWAY'S StatoilHydro has submitted a NKrlObn (2bn) plan to upgrade its Troll oil and gas field, claiming the development is "for the security of supply to Europe". The plan, which must be approved by the ministry of petroleum and energy, would improve oil recovery from the field and ensure gas-export capacity remains steady at 120m cubic metres a day (cm/d).
