Brazilian state-controlled Petrobras has unexpectedly nominated Murilo Fer-reira,chief executive of mining giant Vale,to replace newly appointed chair-man Luciano Coutinho.A vote to con-firm Ferreira is planned for 29 April. Coutinho was named in a 27 March regulatory filing as the replacement for Guido Mantega,a former finance min-ister.Ferreira’s appointment would rep-resent a departure from the political appointees that have previously chaired Petrobras.
