Mexico to present energy reform

Mexican president Enrique Pena Nieto will next week announce the govern-ment’s plan for highly-anticipated energy reforms, including a constitu-ional amendment that could break state-owned oil firm Pemex’s explora-ion and production monopoly. Natural gas drilling could be made available to all, according to signals given by Pemex managers, who are close to Pena’s ruling PRI party. But eforms for oil are more ambiguous.
