Iran’s state-owned oil services firm OIEC started drilling at the Azar oil field in the Anaran block on 4 October. OIEC and its partners, state-owned drilling company NIDC and Dubai- based drilling firm Global Petro Tech Development plan to drill 19 wells at Azar. The field, which Iran shares with Iraq, is expected to reach early produc- tion of 30,000 b/d in 2015, rising to 65,000 b/d in 2017.
