Libya’s military has ordered militias from Misrata out of Tripoli after gunmen from the city opened fire on protesters, killing 43 people and wounding hundreds more on 15 November. The decision is a significant move by the central government, which has so far appeared too weak in reining in armed militias that have been taking hold of the country since the revolution that toppled former Libyan leader Mua-mmar Gaddafi.
