LNG set to fuel transport

DEMAND for liquefied natural gas (LNG) in the transport sector will soar over the next 20 years, taking a 30% share of total demand for the fuel by 2035, a new report forecasts. The LNG in Transportation 2015-2035 report from consultants MJM Energy and data provider Cedigaz, said demand for LNG as a fuel in road, marine and rail transport could reach 179 million tonnes per year (t/y) by 2035, almost a third of 2035's forecast total LNG demand of 600 million t/y. Total LNG demand in 2013 was 240 million t/y.
