Total plans to launch gas production at Vega Pleyade, off Argentina’s far southern province of Tierra del Fuego, around the end of this year after a weather-related delay of around two months. Total operates the project, which is the country’s largest offshore development, with a 37.5pc stake. Germany’s Wintershall holds another 37.5pc and BP-controlled Pan American Energy (PAE) holds the balance.
