The incipient peace process in Libya backed by the UN is showing signs of momentum.The UN has been trying to bring together the many political factions and armed groups for talks on Libya’s security breakdown and stalled transition to democracy. The government of prime minister Abdullah al-Thinni in the eastern city of Tobruk enjoys international recognition, but growing constraints on its power within Libya.In Tripoli,the General National Congress continues to claim legitimate authority,and backs the gov-ernment of self-declared prime minister Omar al-Hassi.
