Ecopetrol seeks Brazil partners

Colombia’s state-controlled Ecopetrol is looking for partners to take on up to 40pc in two Brazilian offshore blocks that the company won in the country’s 11th licensing round in May last year,a senior Ecopetrol executive tells Argus. The firm has already carried out advanced talks with potential buyers, but there is room for new negotiations, the executive says.Ecopetrol offered 9.2mn reals($3.9mn)for deepwater POT-M-567 in the Potiguar basin,and R4mn for shallow-water FZA-M-320 in the Foz do Amazonas basin in the round.
