Iraq’s oil ministry wants to retain a stip-ulation in its draft model contract for the 4bn bl Nasiriya field that the winning consortium will not be paid for any crude produced until an associated 300,000 b/d refinery starts up.The con-tract to develop the field includes build-ing the refinery.The ministry is negoti-ating with foreign companies to make the draft model contract more attractive. Iraq postponed bidding for the project to 19 June from 23 January.
