FLNG prospects grow for sub-Saharan Africa

Floating LNG (FLNG) could result in the commercialisation of sub-Saharan Africa’s non-associated offshore gas fields. Offshore gas finds have struggled for investment as stand-alone projects because of the poor returns from supplying domestic markets. But FLNG offers their development for more lucrative exports markets, with the advantage of having few of the infrastructural challenges faced by onshore LNG plants.
