Iran has set ambitious output targets for two of the oil fields it shares with Iraq. The first phase of development of the South Azadegan field is forecast to reach 320,000 b/d by 2017 from 50,000 b/d now. Feasibility studies need to be carried out on a second phase that could lift output to 600,000 b/d. South Azadegan is the largest field that Iran shares with Iraq.
